Avery is a junior from Montgomery County, MD studying English and media studies. She is interested in First Amendment law, particularly free speech issues. This past summer, she was an editorial operations intern with CNN. On campus, Avery is a senior staff writer for The Sun. She has previously researched electoral environments, democratic backsliding, and competency for execution standards.
